|The Roof Consultants Institute (RCI) is a non-profit association dedicated to the advancement, promotion and growth of the roof consulting profession. The goal of RCI is that roof consulting merit and receive the confidence of the public. As verification of the specialized experience, knowledge and skill necessary to practice roof consulting, RCI has established standards of education, work experience, continuing education and personal character and ethics. All persons meeting these standards are qualified to validate their background, knowledge and skill by submitting to RCI's registration and exam process.
Recognizing the need for qualifications and standards in an unregulated industry, RCI has developed two highly regarded registration programs. Roof consultants and quality assurance observers can establish their credentials through the Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) and Registered Roof Observer (RRO) programs. Both represent a high level of competence, experience, and ethics, as well as, a commitment to continuing education. Both are two-part programs based on verifiable levels of education and experience through an application process and satisfactory performance on a written examination convering such subjects as legal and ethical concerns, roofing systems, specifications, testing, construction procedures, design principles, and practical problems. RRC's and RRO's must offer yearly proof of continuing education to qualify for registration renewal.
RTA has numerous staff members who are recognized as either Registered Roof Consultants or Registered Roof Observers.
